Touriga Nacional is a late bloomer - it needs at least 3 years of age before it's approachable, and is delicious drinking from 3-8 years of age. At this age it tends to throw a crust, so you may prefer to decant it before drinking.
919 Touriga Nacional is intense, deep crimson with inky purple hues. It has intense aromas of cassis, stewed plums, lavender, crushed berries, white spice, mulberries and a touch of minty chocolate. The palate is thickly textured with intense flavours of plum, caramelised onion, black pepper, blackberry, cassis and fountain pen ink with a hint of fresh capsicum and savoury umami undertones. The flavours blossom with a little air before drinking, so leave the bottle open for a while or decant before service.
