Gros Manseng, originally called Petit Manseng in Australia, originates from the south of France, and is grown here in the Riverland for us by our friends at Whistling Kite Wines. Our Gros Manseng is stylish and textured, with fresh floral and honeyed pome fruit aromas. The palate is dry but creamy, with lemon zest, grassy and cinnamon spiced apple flavours and a crisp finish. We love this with a crackling pork roast, sashimi tuna, or a caramelised onion and blue cheese pasta. Fresh floral and pome fruit flavours predominate when young. Flavours become honeyed if cellared 4-6 years. Serve chilled.
*IMPORTANT UPDATE
Wine Australia have notified us that Petit Manseng has been mis-identified in Australia. Our Petit Manseng is actually a sister variety called Gros Manseng. Wine Australia have allowed us to sell our labelled stock as it is. As of 2022 vintage release, our wine will carry the correct name, Gros Manseng.
